Our aim is to create a culturally safe and welcoming space where Aboriginal stories, language, and perspectives are celebrated. We aim to empower children to connect with culture, country, and community through engaging and meaningful learning experiences.
Our culturally inclusive resources support educators in sharing Aboriginal stories, language, and culture in the classroom. Little Wira helps foster curiosity, respect, and a deeper understanding of culture while making learning engaging for all children.
Cat Naden is a proud Wiradjuri woman from Peak Hill, New South Wales, where she grew up surrounded by cousins, family, and deep cultural connection. Living on Country until the age of 18, Cat’s early years were filled with the strength of community and the richness of culture that continue to inspire her today.
After finishing school, Cat moved to Armidale to study a Bachelor of Education (Primary) at UNE, before relocating to Newcastle to begin her teaching career. Over more than ten years in the classroom, she shared her passion for learning and supporting children.
Becoming a mother herself opened Cat’s eyes to the world of Early Childhood education, where she discovered her true calling — creating cultural resources that nurture identity, pride, and connection to Country from the very beginning of a child’s learning journey. This vision grew into Little Wira, a space where stories, language, and culture can be celebrated by children, families, and educators alike.
